ok here we go. I have a 2003 200 vmax 2 stroke. last year I only took the boat out a few times to ski and tube. When I was done I stored the boat in my garage and filled the gas tank to full and added a fuel stabilizer. " No issues at that time.
This year I pulled the boat out, hooked up the water and fired it up. " no water came out" I then checked the water pump and it was toast. I changed the water pump and the lower unit oil.
I hooked up the hose again and the motor fired up, water came out, but the motor sounded very labored.
I checked around and was told to check the spark plugs. I pulled the plugs out and they were all very black, so I changed them all out with the same kind. NGK BRK7EKU plugs. I fired up the motor again and it still ran like " crap"
I was told to get a plug tester and check to see if all were working.
I checked them all one at a time with the plug light and all but one was lit up.
The top highest 2 on motor are the ones that only fire when idol, the rest fire as it gets throttle.
I was told to replace that coil on that plug that was not firing. I did that and checked them again.
I put the light on each plug as it was in gear " one at a time" and got light on all.
I took the boat out to the lake and when I started it it still sounds like crap and when trying to take off its bogging down and going very slow, and sounds labored still.
I was told to check the fuel ball and try squeezing it as I was throttling up...MADE NO DIFFERNCE.
I took the boat home and pulled the new plugs....They are black now too but all were warm to the touch.
I was told to try swapping out the top two highest plugs out with the next two down and try that, just to see what happens. What happened was the motor wouldn't even start? I put the plugs back to where they were and motor fired right up?
Out of water and hooked to hose the motor sounds great and revs up great....In water its like its getting no power to the prop..It boggs way down and only goes slow. PLEASE HELP
