  • 2003 250 HPDI Con***** Box fuze issue

    Hello,

While I was trouble shooting a Battery2 issue, I hit the trim switch and the 704 Control Box lost Power. What I mean by that is no trim/tilt electrical power or any key power, so when I hit the trim/tilt switch or turn the ignition key nothing happens. I looked in the 250 HPDI manual and it points to a fuse box on the engine, but i checked out every fuse including the 2, 100 amp fuses and all tested good.

So if I now have a good battery connection, what else could it be ?

Is there another fuse somewhere on the engine or on the wiring harness behind the dash on the control itself ?

the voltage on the Battery measures 13 V and the voltage on the starter measures 10.5 V. I am going to clean the Ground terminals again, but even with a voltage drop, there should be power to the control box

    Thank You,

    DM

Try putting jumper leads directly onto the engine pos and neg - see if this solves your problem

just move the meter leads down the cables to find when you are loosing the voltage.
all connections and internals of cables have been known to go bad, so do not dismiss anything as being the problem
