2010 F150TXR fuel filter level

Struggling with a swollen fuel filter canister, I broke the water sensor.. Oh well, been wanting to replace that canister anyway, with an e-10 compatible(?) one.

I replaced the entire assy, no issues except 1. I noticed with the engine running, the fuel level in the canister drops down about ½ way. Almost down to the bottom of the filter element. Is this a problem? I don't want to be running lean. Seems to run ok in the driveway, haven't had it on the water yet.
