2001 Yamaha OX66 250HP SX250TXRZ
#1 is without spark. or intermittently fires but mostly without.
With my timing light hooked up and with motor on hose,
I crank it up and engine goes straight to high warmup idle and while on high idle
#1 sparks good for about 5 seconds and then maybe blinks the timing light once or twice every 4 or 5 seconds
# 3 does the same intermittent spark but mostly not firing at all and # 5 is with out spark the entire time.
Engine idle falls down to normal shortly thereafter as it should.
It's not my timing light, as #2 #4 and #6 (the port bank) are firing fast and consistently.
So basically, my starboard bank's spark is not there or intermittently flashes on very briefly here and there.
I have looked at and swapped coils and caps.......not the issue
I have followed and inspected everything, wires and plugs for broken or corroded or chaffed......everything looks great
If I am not mistaken, isn't the entire ignition basically the stator, the pulse coil under stator and the CDI?
I popped the flywheel off and everything looks real nice under it, I swapped the pulse coil with a good spare I had and no change.
I am hoping it is a stator, i don't have a VOM with ability for peak reading nor sure I would understand how to test anyway.
I have it off and on the bench, I have a VOM.....anyone know what I should ohm out and what it should spec on bench?
Shift interrupt switch tests fine
If you were a betting man, stator or CDI unit or something else?
Thank in advance for any help
