  • CV85ELD Compression

I'm selling my engine, 1990 CV85ELD, and the compression is 90-95 in all 3 cylinders. I'm having trouble finding the spec for compression. If anyone knows where I can find a manual or spec list please let me know.

    Thanks

I do not think Yamaha ever put out compression specs in there manuals.
at least I never saw one.
how long have you had that motor?
and have you ever checked compression on it before?

The rule of thumb for compression is that each cylinder should be about 10% of each other.....sounds like your 90-95 psi in each cylinder would indicate a healthy motor.....

From what I've seen/read/experienced over the years, that sounds about right. With them all being so close together, that's even better. You can sell it knowing the cylinders are doing what they're supposed to.
