Good morning. In South Africa, we launch through the surf at most places and beach our boats again on the beach. I have a 2002 Yamaha 115hp 2 stroke on a RIB and need to either take out the or shorten the return valve spring from what I understand. This will mean that when I reverse hard the motor might lift up - a small price to pay to save the transom when beaching. Any experience on this forum in this regard? I do have the diagram of the system below. Nr 14 is the "Spring Up Relief" on the diagram - is this the spring that needs to be shortened or removed? Any advice highly appreciated. Thanks Riaan.
