6YC compatibility on my engine

Hello all, I am new to this forum and a new user of Yamaha outboard motors.

I have twin engines Yamaha LF250TXR 2008 four stroke V6 engines, and was wondering if I can connect 6YC screen and get readings from both into one screen.

I would appreciate any help or guidance on this topic.

Absolutely yes.
Look on page 29 of this on-line document
("Page 2-26")
for one "typical" layout

Yamaha sells all individual parts separately,
and the wiring bits are available in various lengths,
(longer boats need longer wires)

and also packaged in various "kits"
any one of which may have more, or less parts than you need
(but still may be a savings)


you will need
- a "pigtail harness" for each engine, to reach from inside the cowling, to inside the transom
- a "multi-hub" near the transom for those to plug into
- a "multi-hub" at the helm
- a "main bus harness" to connect from transom to helm multi-hubs
- a "power lead" between the keyswitch and multi-hub
- a short "pigtail harness" between the 6YC and the multi-hub
- the 6YC itself

Thanks for the quick reply. The “expert” informed me that the compatibility depends on the ECU on those engines, but you’re saying that it will work regardless? Did I understand correctly?

the compatibility depends on the ECU on those engines,

the ECU of any F250 manufactured after April 2005 is compatible with the 6YC
