I have a 2001 Grady White Seafarer (22 feet) with dual fuel tanks and a 2001 200 hp 2 stroke Yamaha outboard. The fuel gage is not working after removing the boat from winter storage. The gage blinks regardless of whether or not the main tank is selected or the auxiliary tank. I ordered a new $300.00 combination speedometer/fuel gage form boats.net – part no. 6Y5-83570-S6-00. It was received and tested and does the same blinking as the current gage. I contacted boats.net for a return but they will not accept a return on the gage. I assume the next step is to find the fuel sender unit on the boat. Where would that be located on my boat before I start pulling up floor panels or what other components could cause both tanks to result in a blinking fuel gage reading? Thanks for any help on this problem.

The fuel quantity sender(s) will be located in the top of the tank(s). Usually towards the rear of the tank. In a good number of cases the boat builder will provide an access hatch for the sender. Normally in the deck of the boat.
If you go to the GW website you can download an owner's manual for your boat if you don't already have one. Page 5-3 shows the tank and all of its related components.
Take out the crap sender that came with the boat and install one of these. You will wonder how and why you ever went without one.

Thanks for the info. I've removed both fuel senders and checked the grounds on the tanks and they are OK. I ordered 2 replacement senders from WEMA but not convinced they are defective. They both measure a resistance of around 400 to 50 ohms depending on min/max float position. Centroid does not sell a 2 wire SAE mount sender - seemed funny but that's what they told me.
