Have experienced a problem with an '88 150ETXG oil leaking out of the carbs with the motor fully tilted; nearly pumped out the entire oil tank. I'm hoping it was just something simple like a stuck oil level gauge. Tested resistance and it was OK to specs. Looking further I found that the yellow wire coming out of the oil control unit was cut and spliced into the light blue (tilt up) wire from the tilt switch on the outboard. Anybody know why this would have been done? Only owed boat for two years so this was done prior. Any help would be appreciated.
