Looking for some info on changes made to the lower unit of a 1989 8HP, 8SF outboard. My lower unit is worn out due to corrosion. I’ve found a few on EBay but the part numbers are different; last two numbers only. According to parts vendors, the 6G1-45300-03-EK was the last available complete lower unit. Unfortunately it’s no longer available. The unit on EBay is 6G1-45300-03-4D. They look identical (comparing mine to the posted pictures). Does anyone know if lower units from different years will fit? It appears there’s a change around 2006 but anything from the mid 80’s to mid 90’s seems to look the same.
