  • Jet pump bearing

I have my jet pump torn apart to replace seals, decided to replace the bearing while its out. My service manual doesn't have any info on pressing it back together, or at least what I was looking for. Once all disassembled, we looked at the bearing pressed on the shaft, with the thrust collar on top, but it just seems that it was pressed together with built in free play between the thrust washer and bearing, and that is what I'm trying to find out. Is there a tolerance or measurement that this bearing is pressed on the shaft to the trust washer? My unit is the Yamaha Z model

What service manual do you have?

It should be LIT-18619-00-03 or the equivalent.

thanks Boscoe, I did see all of those, but none show any dimensions for the collar depth, or bearing depth.

        bearing

your bearing will press down all the way to the truarc spring. Make sure the bearing numbers are facing down (Towards the water). The rest of the seal assembly goes above it in the bearing carrier...
