Hi,
My 2006 F250 is hard to shift between F-N-R.
I thought it was the shift cable wearing out so I disconnected the cable from under the hood of the F250 and found it was butter smooth when disconnected.
I then greased the zirc fitting under the hood beneath the shifter mechanism as well as the zirc facing port about mid section on the outside of the engine (just above the Lower Unit).
No effect. Still shifts pretty hard.
Question: Is there another lube point I should grease to get my shifter to shift easier?
Or could it possibly be the cable (though I get zero resistance when it's disconnected)?
Thanks,
