Hello, I have purchased a new F200 engine and would like to rig it as per the Yamaha Rigging Guide pages 2-15 or 2-16. Both are called 'Single Engine with Binnacle Controls - 6YC Display'. I would like to eliminate the 6YC display and go straight into a (not yet purchased) MFD - currently leaning towards a Garmin 942 series head unit. My question to the experts is two part: Is there a difference between 2-15 and 2-16 other than 2-16 uses 2 of the data hubs (and what is the reason for two versus one hub?) and part 2: Will I still connect to the Garmin from the forward hub with a Yamaha pigtail harness or would I use a J1969 cord? My goal is to have the full 6YC functionality, including Yamaha graphics, on the Garmin, in addition to the sonar and chart plotting capabilities. Many thanks in advance for the expertise.
