Lower unit overfill?

2014 F300 if you over fill the lower will it come out dripping through the top water intake?

Friend helping me do maintenance and saw him pump more oil in the lower with the top screw in thought he was supposed to top it off.
I just left it for now and didnt drain it but have some slight oil drips from the top water intake.

over filling with vent closed could push a seal out with the hydraulic pressure.
might want to drain and pressure test lower unit, and then fill back up properly it it passes the test
