  • Tachometer and Hour not working F200TR

    Hello!
    I just bought a secondhand boat. Problems encountered and cannot be resolved.
    Is the RPM and hour (but the result is 0 while the motor is running)
    I have studied and tried to check the electric wires from miles to the con*****er and 10 pin cables from normal engines. I came to look at the service manual. The green wire connected from the ECM is Tach, position 1.
    But the power cable in my engine, the green wire is in position 2
    I think this is the cause or that it is normal.
    I have information that the previous owner changed all the wire sets and ECM.

    I can't quite make out the number scribed into the ECM;
    it should say "60L-??"

    what are the two numbers in the "??" spaces

    Beginning with ECMs marked "-30"
    Yamaha "remapped" some of the ECM pin functions
    and the tachometer output moved from Pin 1 to Pin 2

      The engine is probably 60L, but the wiring harness is probably F225 (69J). All normal operations except RPM + Hour are not working.

          same thing - if its 69J-30 or higher,
          the pinout is slightly different from that shown in the 2001 and 2003 Service Manuals
          including moving the green tach wire from Pin 1 to Pin 2

            Yes, you said it was correct by the previous owner. When I bought him said that it is not a problem. Just at the connection cable Which I bought the cable for which it is still not good and I then try to find information The point I noticed is My engine is a 60L (F200), but the owner of the wire harness with 69J causes the pin tach to be moved, causing the tach to die.

              maybe I am wrong, but it sounds to me that we still do not know if the ECM or harness is a 30 or higher

                this ECM and Wire harness.
                engine operation Normal(idle little high). but problem tach not working
                Where should I fix it?

                    I don't know what engine model and year (no name plate) therefore cannot answer you.
                    I noticed the Wire. Harness and ECM from the service manual. This is the result from YDS (as in the picture).
                    I came to ask a question About whether it is possible At Tach I Die (not the original wire harness and ECM)

                      I would think fairdeal answered your question the best he could without knowing that part numbers the ECU and harness are

                        Well, we clearly have a language barrier here;
                        although NeverSea has an excellent command of english,
                        I suspect it is not his primary tongue.

                        Are there two engines?
                        there are two YDS screenshots

                        one from a "6S1-10" ECM which apparently is a non-USA F200
                        - I'm guessing, built before 2005

                        the other, "69J - 11" from an F225 - also non-USA
                        but, I am confident, is pre-2005

                        so certainly, for the 69J-11 ECM,
                        and perhaps for the 6S1-10 ECM,
                        the tach output comes from Pin #1

                        if the wire, for that pin, in the harness/plug
                        is NOT green -
                        then the tach will not receive a signal.

                        if that is the case,
                        how the engine can otherwise run fine,
                        with at least two wires mismatched between harness and ECM
                        is a mystery to me

                              1.69J normal and Tach OK, but 6S1 problem is Tach not working and idle high =900-1000RPM
                              2.yes !!! pin#2 is Green
                              3.pin # 1 is white
