  • F70 speed sensor

I just upgraded from a F50 2014 to a F70 2020 and suppose to re-use my command link instruments (tachometer and speedometer). To get the speedometer to work, I need to move the water pressurized speed sensor from the F50 to the F70. However this sensor is connected to a harness marked SS on the F50, but I cannot find any SS on the F70, just WW. Is the SS and WW the same? It will fit physically, but want to make sure I don’t mess up anything.

    Not the same,
SS is speed, WW is water jacket pressure.
They both use the same sensor,
that is why the electrical connector fits.

I'm surprised you can't find the SS lead -
but I have no way of knowing if it is there or not.

    Do you have/use a chartplotter/fishfinder with GPS?
if you do, and that device outputs NMEA 0183,
it is usually a simple matter to connect a couple of wires
and allow the speedometer to display speed from the GPS
