Some manufacturers have said if you do not run the motor often then the shiny internal parts do not have much oil protection when not running and may rust , so some people like to run the 50 to 1 just to have the extra oil in there
50:1 seems to be a pretty well accepted happy medium for 2 stroke outboards...but if 100:1 is O.K. for you then fine...but consider fogging your motor between uses to avoid corroded bearings and journals...
