  • Can Command Link Tach be adapted to 2005 F115?

I assume answer will be "No", but thought I'd ask if anyone has determined a way to adapt.

Question: Can the newer Command Link Tach be adapted to a 2005 F115 (and give the additional modes/output info)?

    Thanks for responding.

(and my apologies if I've posted this twice. I'm not seeing my first attempt, so thought I'd try again.)

Well, first we need to pinpoint when your engine was made.
A "2005 Model" is unlikely to work with Command Link
an engine manufactured in or after April 2005 will

look at the label on the starboard engine bracket for the manufacture date
or give us your full PID number from the port bracket

      From bracket.

      Manufactured: 07/05

From your answer I assume that would indicate it should work?

      F115TLR

      Thank you.

        Yes, according to Yamaha's record,
your engine should have all the Command Link connectors,
on the engine harness - have you looked for them?

This is the main plug for the 'bus'

            One at rear. Empty now.

Two upfront. Appears that's where I have current engine/console cable plugged in. (digital tach, but not command link)

Any more thoughts after seeing what I have?

            Thanks as always.

Do I disconnect the front plugs and plug the harness into the rear plug? It looks most like the one in the picture (posted by Fairdeal).

              Thanks,
