  • Drive Unit Assembly

Could someone tell me the function of the Drive Unit Assembly P/N 69J-83306-01-00. Found on my 06/06 F225 TXR. Was wondering if this piece could have anything to do with the lack of voltage going to my batteries since the harnesses are coming from my Rectifier regulator.

    Thanks in advance

It is also called a fuel pump driver and isolator.

Part of the unit acts as an isolator to separate the two separate sets of three phase electrical inputs that come from the stator. These inputs go first to the rectifier/regulator, then on to the isolator portion of the drive unit and then on to fuses.

Another part of the drive unit acts as a switching component (relay) for the low pressure and high pressure pumps. The ECU tells the relay when to open and/or close and depending upon the relay switch position the pumps are either on or off.

Check the stator for proper output to the rectifier/regulator. Then check the output from the rectifier/regulator to the driver/isolator unit. If there is proper output from the rectifier/regulator to the driver/isolator but improper output from the driver/isolator then I would suspect the driver/isolator as being defective.
