  • Command Center Gauges

    Good afternoon!
I’m having an F300XA installed on Monday. I was going to use my old (2001) gauges.
Part 1- I am reconsidering for three reasons. 1-can’t reset the hour meter (I’ll give it to the guy buying my motor) 2-I want the fuel economy reading, which is absent from my old gauges 3- the numbers on the square gauges look a lot bigger. Tech is gone today, so I can’t ask him these questions: What model gauge set do I need? Any extra wiring or hubs?
Part 2- if I want to hook the motor to my Simrad NSS12 as well, what else do I need?
    Thanks in advance!

well, Yamaha doesn't make the square gauges anymore -
so other than finding a used set,
your choices are the round Command Link (6Y8)
    or the rectangular 6YC.

    You'll need different wiring,
between engine and helm, from what you have,

and that will use two 'hubs' -
although they both could be 'inline' hubs.

as for connecting your Simrad -
is it already on a NMEA 2000 backbone?
that determines exactly how you tie it in with the Yamaha

      Thank you!

When you say the wiring will be different, does that mean I need a new harness from motor to helm?
Is there a specific hub or hubs model?

The Simrad will be new and there’s nothing currently on a nema link.

Yes, you will need "Command Link" wiring -
        set up like so:

You can buy everything 'a la carte'
        or as a 'kit':
one gauge, two gauges, or the 6YC,
packed with various cables & hubs.

        The way the system works,
there must be a hub at the engine end,
and another at the gauge end, of the wiring.

It can be an inline hub, or a multi-hub,
depending on what needs to be connected.
With a single engine, an inline hub at the stern is all you need.

You can plug your Simrad directly in to the forward hub
        using a non-Yamaha "adapter cable".

So if you went with two gauges,
you would use a multi-hub at the helm
soyou could plug them both, and the Simrad,
