took boat out for first time this year. Would not go once giving it throttle. seen that all cables are moving in lower caw, when in neutral the metal plate is back as in pictures but when i give it full throttle everything moves forward and get no acceleration but if you hold metal pc from moving forward everything works fine. did i lose something that holds it in place as i seen were bolt could go as in pictures.. any help with info appreciated and what part to get? thanks for any help

I would look closely in the lower cowl as what ever belongs there, possibly came off and fell down there.. (Very, very odd "it" would change/fall off, etc, just sitting over winter)
I also DON'T see that plate in the parts diagram, (that looks like a "U" ) in your picture..
Is it possible that "plate" slips under the main , upper retaining plate(show) and holds the cables inside the rubber grommet?
**Lastly, did anyone have those cables unattached/ replaced for any reason? It would appear, something(probably that plate), did not go back in it's correct spot..

Plate in other diagram. Cables good something else is missing to keep u plate from moving forward. Any help much appreciated..
