  • F8 Carburetor idle adjustment

    Hi
My 2007 F8 carburetor has a fixed, idle jet needle valve. The designation on the carb is 60N-31 it's a European specification. I'm in the UK
Can anyone tell me either how to remove it or how to clean it.
I've had all the other jets out and cleaned them.
I'm assuming the idle fuel/air ratio is fixed due to the flow of air/fuel through the carb.
All the "idle screw" would allow is more or less of the "fixed" mixture into the inlet manifold.
Also the by-pass holes are clean, so I'm thinking that when the throttle plate is closed there should be a flow of air into the pilot passages.
If the throttle plate on mine is closed then the engine dies.
Short of buying a new carb I'm a bit stumped.
    Thanks
    Bob

Most likely has a blanking plug over top of the jet. Carefully drill a small hole in the plug and use a pick to pry the plug out.

Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't have a blanking plug over it, and there isn't a slot in the end either

Could you please post a picture of the carb and a close up of the area in question.
