2016 9.9 will go up, but not down.

This weekend our kicker decided it only wanted to go up. Lots of up, no down. We're assuming this is a solenoid or switch. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Any "clicking" from under the cowl when pressing the down button?

Also, 2 or 4 stroke?

is the relay operating?
is the pump motor running?

switches , relay, motor, , pump, and wiring can all cause problems

99yam40; I'm not sure I understand. The relay seems to be working with the switch in the up position, but not in the down position. The pump (I think you mean hydraulic) is working when the switch is in the up position, but not down. Where is the relay that controls the pump circuit?

we do not have a crystal ball to see what is happening or not happening, so you will need to listen or take voltage readings so you can tell us what operates and what does not.

can you hear anything happening when you hit the down switches?
