  • Yamaha 2.5 four strok carburetor rebuild question

Rebuilding the carburetor or a Yamaha 2.5 hp 4 stroke outboard. My problem is the integral fuel cutoff lever. The kit came with new rubber o-ring and rubber sleeve for this part of the carb. Well needless to say after replacing the sleeve and o-ring it leaks like a sieve. Having thought I missed something I ordered a new o-ring and rubber sleeve to try again, this time meticulously cleaning and prepping for the new parts and as expected leaks ... What is the secret or trick to this part of the carb, does it call for an adhesive? I'm out of ideas.
    any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    Year / model #?

Looks like most years the carb is the same..( https://www.boats.net/catalog/yamaha...315/carburetor )

    O-ring #24?

    Part #23?

Yes changed with new twice, still leaks. I'm curious if the rubber sleeve ( valve) uses an adhesive to seal.

I'd compare the old one to the new one. Looks like the one above has a "ridge" taller than the other two, clocked properly?

O-ring #24 is slipped over part #22 onto the groove correct? Does that fit snug?

Might try the old unit and see what happens..
