May be as simple as replacing the primer bulb! Happened to my brother with his Yamaha F115. His motor would start but whenever he tried to get up on plane it would kill and it was evident that the motor was starving for fuel......same symptoms as you, primer bulb would not get hard and when you squeezed it fuel seemed to be going 50/50 some to the motor some back to the tank!

That is my thought as well, but it started and ran (although rough) on the muffs before we headed to the dock. It started fine then cut out when put into gear. Then would not start after that. I emptied the filter suspecting water and was unable to get fuel back into the filter pumping primer.

Well, I hate to ask the obvious, but are you positive that the tank has fuel in it?
Does the fuel bulb pop right back, or does it stay compressed for a bit? Give as much detail as you can. Have you checked the fuel line back to the tank - how does it look? Take the fuel line off at the tank and pump the bulb - does it create suction against your finger? Try sticking the end in a bucket of fuel.2000 Yamaha OX66 250HP SX250TXRY 61AX103847T

did you actually check the gasket mating surface on the water separator head?
you would not believe how many cast AL heads corrode and shove the gasket out and leak air.
as most you cannot see, only feel.
they never get checked for the white stuff.
