Prop size

I have a 2001 yamaha 225 vmax and at first i had a prop size 14 1/2 x 27m on it and it was only turning up 4200 rpm wot so i switched it to a 13 3/4x17m and now it is turning up 5500 rpm wot but my boat is still only doing the same speed as it was with the first prop i tried.

If i tried a 14 1/2x21pitch on it would that increse my speed and still give me max rpm at wot?

I would be looking at the Yamaha performance Bulletins to see what they used on a boat and motor like yours and how it performed

13 3/4 diameter hub on a 225hp?! I wouldn’t just install any ole prop and test. Need to look at a prop spec chart to align with your 4.75” gear case. The first number is diameter inches followed by pitch inches....14” x 19”.
