  • Pro series II gauge compatibility

Does anyone know if the green tach wire on a 2004 F50TLRC sends the correct signal to a Pro Series II tach or any aftermarket analog Tach for the R.P.M.'s?

Yes. The green wire sends the tachometer signal.

Some tachometers are adjustable to account for ********g tachometer signals.

Does the cdi have anything to do with the equation? I cant seem to get any tach to respond? Have a brand new pro series II a slightly used one and a brand new aftermarket sahara. Swapped the cdi, rectifier and stater. The 12v yellow is constant with voltage using the same ground as the tach? Get a reading of ac voltage on the green wire at the tach? I have the service manual only not the test harnesses to test. Didn't want to poke holes in 12 wires

Oh and tried the pole settings as well with no luck. Set on 12

In this model, no. In some Yamaha models, yes.

In an F50C model the tachometer signal comes from the rectifier/regulator.

There are several connection points between the R/R and the tachometer. Any one of which can be compromised and cause the tachometer signal not to reach the tachometer. Here are just a few. The ones on the motor.
