  • Yamaha OX66 (SX200TXRY) Low Pressure Problem.

Have seen similar posts but slightly different.

Engine had stalled while idling. Took a few minutes but started. Had intermittent problems of not starting after periods of idle - seemed like a fuel problem. Engine was also running rough - literally shaking more than normal. Engine would just spin after stall - no spark / fuel? Engine would fire after it cooled. Was running great at higher RPMs.
    - Changed plugs - Olds didnt looked fouled
    - inspected VST and changed filter - somewhat clogged
    - replaced low pressure fuel pumps - post inspection membrane seemed slightly flexible but not bad.
    - replaced on-board fuel water seperator
    - replaced onboard fuel filter - seemed fairly clean. NOTE: I did notice that fuel was below the actual filter level after putting everything back together on restart.
    - high pressure fuel pump working.
    - Checked battery output - seems ok.

Ran better than it has - smooth no knocking - no problems FOR 3 DAYS then stalled at low speed 200 yards from dock but started right back up and no problems. Yesterday - stalled 200 yards from dock - no restart - just spinning out. When I say stalled - I mean running to immediate dead stop. Checked any obvious fuel line leaks and plug wires. Started after a bit but seemed to be running much rougher than it had. And I am getting the "ticking" sound (o2 sensor?) if others know what I am talking about. Made it back to dock and seemed to start up no problem but again not running smooth at neutral like it was.
Checked pressure yesterday - didnt get close to stated 35psi on key or start up. First try - 30. Pulled off gauge second test 20. Third test 15. May be user error however.

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
