  • Pink wire coming from the 100 fuse.

I just finished changing the power head on my 2005 300 hpdi. Everything went well except I can't figure out where this pink wire connects to . The end corroded so bad it just fell off. If I hook it to starter engine runs fine. If I just leave it lose you can't turn the engine off. But I don't recall it being tied into the starter. I hope the picture show it well enough so I can figure it out. Thanks for any help.

the two regulator rectifier output leads, in one connector,
    "plug into" the fuse box

then - from the schematic -
it appears downstream of the fuses,
is another connector with two "red" output wires -
one goes to the t/t relay (and from there to the + terminal of the starter)
the other is the "Aux output' plug

Thanks for the response. So It was right hooked up to the starter?

Did you fix your problem based on your thread in the other forum?

Did you make all of the electrical connections on your motor exactly as they are shown in the wiring diagram?

I put everything back the way it was with the exception of this one wire that broke off due to corrosion and I can't figure it out. I did connect it to the power terminal on the starter and it ran with out issue. When I disconnected the motor would not shut off. I have not tried to ground the wire yet. Should I try that today?

are we still wondering 'where the pink wire goes'?

of the two pink wires that attach to the fusebox with the black plug,

one should be crimped into a ring terminal lug -
                        along with a red wire.

The ring terminal attaches to a t/t relay post,
and then the red wire goes to the starter post.

The other pink wire is the "Auxiliary charging lead' - it is - or was - capped off:

However, if it is easier now to just connect the mystery pink wire to the starter,
                            that's fine,
so long as the red wire is in place between the starter and t/t relay -
                            the t/t will work,
and the electricity will not care.

But what do you mean by "When I disconnected the motor would not shut off " ?
