  • Throttle backing down on it’s own..

When running over 2000 rpm’s I have to continue to hold the throttle in place or it will slowly back down. The dealer indicated this was a safety option, not ever seeing or hearing of this (not in the manual) I was wondering if anyone else knew.

No, there's a friction adjustment in the throttle control that needs to be tightened a little.

Remove the plastic cover on the control handel and you will see a friction adjusting screw. tighten it a little bit. leave the cover off while you try this setting, It took me about 3 or 4 times before I got it to where I liked it. You do not want to make it too tight, but you do not want it to creep, either.
