I have a F100TLRY (2000) 67F, I need to replace the dust seal and also the tilt cylinder end screw buy I do not know how to separate the tilt cylinder form the trim cylinder. I have all the special tools (YB-06175B, YB-06572, etc) to do the job, I just can't figure out how to separate. Do you have any tricks that may help? Thanks!

the steps are in the service manual.
if you have never done one of these dual ram setups you may wish to find someone who has or you will make a mess of it.
once the ram assy is removed from the unit,catch/locate all 6 balls, then clamp the lower end in the special tool in a vice and use the other special spanner tool to separate the trim from the tilt ram.
the outer is the trim ram the inner is the tilt ram.

That's where I am at in the removal process. I have removed the ram assy, I have caught all 6 balls. I have clamped the lower end in the special tool and have already removed the tilt end cap, but it seems like the inner is hydrolocked to the outer. The service manual in not very specific in regards to the separation of the two. It just says remove one from the other.

Ya, that's what the manual says and the yamaha school book says (it will seperate) But that's not happening. You can pull on it all day long and it wont budge. Even if you drop the assembly back in the cylinder and try and use the hydraulic fluid, nothing! Im at a loss.
