Hi gang...Just picked up a 93-Yami C40-PLRR..came off a beer barge on a freshwater lake....this "supposedly running when it came off the boat" motor was locked up...wouldnt pull start,shift or move the prop a bit..was pretty sure they seized the lower....couple hundred bucks later im tearin the lower unit off....motor spins by hand..compressions within 3 psi on both cyls....and it has electric start/trim..ALL the cables. harness teleflex and side mount WITH a key..I was hopin MASTER YODAHA Boscoe or some other parts guru could say u can swap this lower for yours if the carrier housing wont budge or cracks....(soaked in vinegar for 24 hrs...alota oxidation just melted away..been in a tranny fluid an diesel dunk for 3 days).Im bettin the carrier will come out....BUT,,Just in case..LOL ....any input would be more than welcome...Thanks...Mike

looking at parts on here ,it says that lower is listed on 93 and 94.(Q & R)

I just noticed your lower unit has the big nut and claw washer like my brothers C60 has.

99yam 40....thanks for the reply man...that helped alot....Ive been seeing a parts motor on craigs about 20 minutes from me..( for over a month) nvr realizing it was a c40 till i blew up the pic n saw two plugs.......called the guy today...he sold the lower yesterday to an out of state guy that wanted it shipped..( yea thats my luck) lol......the whole motor was 400 bucks...this guy ponies up 400 plus 75 bucks to ship...just the lower...he wanted that thing bad i guess.....funny thing was..last night,.seller had a buddy sold him what he thought was a 3 cyl 40....brings it over...its a c40 without a lower unit.....i about died laffn when he told the story..n he did too....supposedly hes got a line on two lowers...one for him & one for mine.....gota sneaky feelin....i better take some vaseline with me when i go pick this up...lmaoComment
