  • Fuel -No fire. Ignition issue.

I have a 1990 Yamaha ProV150LD. The previous owner (boat liquidator) removed the oil tank and made the enging to take fuel mixed 50:1 in the tank.
So, I tried the boat out and it ran fine. Checked everything out and all was good.
One day I put it in the lake and nothing. I pulled it out and got it back home and had a blown 20 amp fuse under the cowling. Kept blowing the fuse as soon as I turned the key to ignition on. The engine would not turn over.
I looked into the remote engine control and found several crushed and nicked wires causing the short.
I purchased a new Yamaha 703 remote control. Plugged it in and the blown fuse issue stopped. The engine turns over fine.
But no spark on the plug. I have fuel. But I took a spark plug out and grounded it to the engine. No spark.
Any ideas? It ran fine before it started blowing the 20 amp fuse on the wiring harness.
    Thanks.

      Thanks. I'll do that.
But I hooked the old remote back up (after repairing the wiring) and it still wouldn't hit.
