    I freaking gotta ask.

WHY OH WHY would you check a pulser coil for a spark problem on that engine?????
    I just gotta ask.

its not anything like the old CDI setups.

TCI uses 12v and the ground path is the ECU,when the transistor shuts off current stops flowing, the magnetic field in the ign coil primary collapses and a voltage is induced in the secondary winding.

its a solid state version of points and condenser
thought you said the pulser signal con*****ed the spark

I said based on pulser coil signals.
it goes back to spark PRODUCING components and spark CONTROLING.

on the EFI F90 if you lose a pulers coil, there are two, the ECU sparks all 4 cyl. fuel is injected on all 4 ,ign timing is fixed at about 10*BTDC, idle speed increases to about 1100 and top speed cannot be reached.
would also show up as a code 13 on a diagnostic device.

that's the whole beauty about EFI, it tries to test itself and will alert the operator of a system failure.

goes back to understanding the system your attempting to troubleshoot.
