Old '83 yamaha 6B 678 to 8HP??

Anyone done this?
Looks to be the same 2 cyl block etc but I have difficulty finding out exact differences since I can't find good IPL's for the 78-83 engines.

Ideas where to find parts lists or how to do a "redneck" upgrade?
