miss fire

I have a 94 Yamaha that has a miss fire and when I remove a plug wire it has no effect on the idle, any suggestions on troubleshooting?

Swap the high voltage coil with another on the motor and see if the symptom follows the suspect coil using the same test.

what hp as some of the v-6`s ,the #2&5 will not fire until the rpms are up higher....most of the time your culprit will be the carbs.
