  • F150 Warm starting difficulty

2004 F150 TXRD, 410 hours, starts 1st try cold, after running 20-45 mins then fishing for 30 or so, have to crank 3-6 times to start. Seems like it has gotten a little worse this year...

    Any ideas?

An F150TXRD is a 2005 model year motor.

The motor is approximately 9 years old now. If it ran well for the first eight/nine years and now is not running (starting) well, why is it thought that the Yamaha vapor kit is needed?

That is, it did not need the kit for the first nine years, why would it be needed now?

I would suspect that some existing part is not performing as well as it did in the past.

Fuel cooler restricted or plugged.Old age can plug the cooler and result in possible vapor lock

          +1 ^^^^

Is the engine flushed regularly after saltwater (if used in saltwater)? If not, that could cause the restriction in the fuel cooler..
