Start up RPM question

S200 TXRT. When I start it (on choke) and throttle advanced, engine starts with smoke (break in hours) and rpm jumps to 3K, but I immediately throttle it down to 1K for couple of minutes, and after warm up, idling on 700 rpm. That initial jump to 3K or more rpm worries me. Is it OK or not? Thank you.

try not to advance the fast idle lever so far when starting

Too much choking maybe, just bump a few times

wont hurt anything and smoke at cold start is a GOOD thing.
you may try a tad less warm up throttle.
