2006 Yamaha F115 power trim bleeding

    update
    as I could not get the trim caps off the unit due to wallowed out spanner holes and I had a spare unit with a good reservoir I made 2 units into one.

    the original problem was technician induced.

    I found the guts to the down relief valve and the valve oring missing from the pump body.

    the parts diagram does not list nor show the guts.
    it lists it as valve sub assy on trim and tilt page 2.

    the pin in that valve is about the diameter of a paper clip and about 1/4" long and is NOT retained in the valve body.
    it falls out eaisily.
    the ball is about the size of a bb and falls out just after the pin does.

    this valve goes into the pump body.
    not to be confused with the valve in the trim unit body.

    but all that remains is cleaning and painting.
    once the paint is dry it gets shipped.

        Should have it back soon. Rodbolt17 has solved the mystery. A full report and final post to follow soon.

            Well what I just received in the mail was nothing like the 100 hour unit I sent out More to come after I talk with the repair shop tomorrow.

                    Well without going into detail about what happened on the phone today with the shop owner (great guy!).

                    rodbolt17- thanks for all you do here to help lots of folks FO FREE.
