So my old reliable VMax overheated on idle recently. Took it in to the shop and they said the impeller housing was melted. They replaced the housing and impeller, took it back out and it immediately overheated on idle before I could even get it out of the no wake zone. It's back in the shop now but they haven't figured it out yet. Any ideas?
Also, my '02 Triton TR-20 only has the alarm, no temp gauge(s). I'm not really comfortable with that now that this issue has come about and would like an actual temp gauge. The dash is all old school analog gauges, with the usual issues of the speedo not working and the RPM gauge flops around enough I'm not sure it's at all accurate. I do have a 2016 Humminbird Helix 12" sonar, which is supposed to be NMEA 2000 compatible. Is my '02 engine NMEA compatible? If not, is it possible to set up more reliable digital gauges for it?
Thanks for any help!
Jerry
