F8 rectifier/ regulator 68T 81960 00 00

I write from 'Italy and sorry for the horrible English.

I read a previous post on the forum about installing a rectifier / regulator on the F8 (4 stroke) not present in the original factory.
the previous discussion ended in an ambiguous way and it was not clear whether to install the 68T-81960-00-00 allowed to charge a bactery service.
it is possible to resume the subject and to confirm the result (charge a 12V battery) and explain the connection to do? Furthermore, in addition to the in-line fuse 20A must have other precautions in connecting the wires to the battery you will remember is the same as the main engine?

As always, the complete model identity of the motor is needed. Serial number would be even better.

Do you have any unused green wires coming from under the flywheel?

ok,,Hi to you over in the "boot" ....outboards stators are not designed to charge a battery !!! Yes,, read that again !!! they are only designed to MANTAIN state of charge...anyway they are sold on motors outside of the usa and are for running lights only..Keith

Do you also use the name "madharchard" or something like that?

Where in the world did you get the idea that a Yamaha generator is not designed to charge a battery? That is one of its main functions. To recharge a battery after current has been taken from the battery to start a motor.

Some generators will charge faster than others but they will recharge a battery. Or two.

You might want to brush up on your geography while you are brushing up on your Yamaha stuff. Trieste is in the north east. It is not in the boot of Italy.
