I need to replace the trim motor on one of my 2000 250 2 stroke's. Is the Yamaha brand that much better than the much less costly brands of replacement motors on the market?

you get what you pay for
price does mean quality most of the time.
Will work for awhile but not sure how long.
Keep up with the paint/corrosion and maybe you will be happyLast edited by 99yam40; 08-31-2014, 07:49 PM.

I have used an aftermarket trim motor (fresh water only application). I had it on a motor for about 5 years. While it was slower and louder than the factory unit I had no issues with it. If I ever need to put a new one again I would likely put the OEM on for a faster / quieter ride but not because I had a problem with the aftermarket.
