Got a few questions. First question is , does the 704 binnacle control have a neutral built inside and what color wires if so. I bought the motor used, the previous owner switched the lowers from prop to jet. I have just the jet.Theres a cable that runs from the jet lower to the neutral switch under the cowling. My question is do I still need that neutral switch under the cowling or can I eliminate the neutral switch if the 704 control has a neutral switch.I don’t think I need two neutral switch's. If so how do I disconnect the switch under the cowling.

Upon further research, the switch under the cowling is not needed, so do I just pull the plug from the switch or do I need jump the wires that I disconnected

Dunno but I'd just un-plug it and see what happens.

If it doesn't work as you wish, jump it..

Jet unit doesn't have a neutral, so switch is superfluous, or more correctly was put in the control to cater for "normal" gear changing lower units.

if it is not hurting anything why mess with it?

Im sure its a neutral, does the 704 controls have a neutral switch, dont need two
if it does, there no gears in a jet, its direct drive, its always spinning in one direction

the controler normally has a neutral safty switch to keep someone from starting the motor in gear, but the shift switch on the motor is the one that lets the ECU know what is going on with the motor, and/or tiller motors do not have the one on a separate con*****er I guess
why are you wanting to keep that info from the ECU?

the mods may have come in a pulled it or made fairdeal remove it
