  • International Yamaha 85AET. American equivalent?

I am trying to order parts in the US for my international model Yamaha 85AET 2-stroke (688L1012925). Mostly electronics and crankshaft bearings.

Anybody have an idea what american model is equivalent to my engine?

    I'm ordering from boats.net

I looked at my Yam data and don't see an equivalent US model.

Last 688 model offered in the US was a 1996 C85TLRU. This is a premix model. Don't think your model is but...

On that S/N range your motor don't have a match with a US model but on other S/N range 85AET match with C85TLR S/T or U or years 1994, 1995 and 1996.

I'm almost sure that will do but can not ensure.

Do it at your own risk...

If for me I would buy it any way if a huge diference in prices.

I'm in EU and when i'm not in a hurry or is a large diference in prices I buy in boats.net but always ask my friends or family that times to times fly to US in business to bring the stuff because I want to stay away from costumes and save on postage.

      Good luck

If autolube or precision blend should be 85AETO

That I know they just made this model premix

You are right. my engine is not a premix (no built-in oil tank)

I've been looking at schematics on boats.net of the engines you mentioned, and they seem to look identical. I might order parts and just hope for the best.

          thanks for the help.

Premix means there is no oil tank mounted on the motor.

Oh. My bad. It is a premix model then (without built-in oil tank)

I can do better than this to help you...

I'll post the 85AET manual parts so you can compare parts # with parts # of US model at boats.net or other and you be completly sure and don´t be worried about spend money on wrong parts.

Later, can´t do it from the phone.

I wish that Yamaha US offered us that kind of a parts catalog. So much easier to use.

                        Thanks for posting it.

                          To twirk twirk,

If and when you take a part number from the parts catalog that Mr. Almetelo graciously provided, and you plug it into the boats.net search box, be sure and add a -00 to the number.

For instance, the part number in the parts book for carburetor one is shown as 688-14301-08. This part number will not show up. However, if you make it 688-14301-08-00 then it will. Same for a crankshaft bearing, P/N 93310-835U8. Change it to 93310-835U8-00.

                          See below

                          Boat Parts: 688-14301-08-00

                          Boat Parts: 93310-835u8-00
