I am having issues with my 2002 F-80. I ran fine to the pier. The next morning it wouldn't crank. I used starter fluid and it would crank until the fluid was consumed. By pass the fuel lines and connected straight to the fuel pump, same thing happened. Fuel filter is clear. Could this be the prime starter assembly?

You should have battery voltage at the thermoelectric valves when the engine is running. Pull them and put them directly to 12v they should both extend very slowly, compare the lengths of the two, should be the same fully closed and extended.
Unlikely the problem unless they are stuck in the fully extended position.
Problem is likely in the carbs/fuel pump as stated by almetelo but you are best to check spark and compression before undertaking such a job.
When an engine is cranking the starter is engaging and turning the flywheel.
Your engine is cranking but not firing/starting.Last edited by greasyshaft; 08-19-2014, 06:23 PM.

Greasyshaft, Yea I miss spoke on the crank/starting. It will crank but not start. It will start with starter fluid and will run as long as I keep spraying, that's why I was thinking fuel delivery issue. I will check compression. spark and timing, never hurts to check those. New fuel line and filter, fuel pump pumping but have not checked pressure on it. I will check the Prime starter with the 12 volt I think that's and easy place to start.
Thanks Almetelo and Greasyshaft!

Pull the drain bolts on the carbs and see if fuel comes out.
Please read this thread, especially post #11 to trouble shoot the Primstart assm;
