My 2002 outboard is overheating. I have replaced the thermostat. When hooked up to the hose it will not get hot. But once in the water(salt water) after about 15 min of running at high throttle it overheats and sounds alarm.. the water is coming out of the hole on the side of the motor but.not as strong as it does when the hose is on it. Boat has not been in the water for 2 years. Please hell

Plus 1 ^^^^. The WP impeller likely took a "set" and needs replacement.
I wouldn't run it anymore until the impeller is seen.
The smaller engines tend to have parts of the impeller themselves come apart and clog the rest of the system (which you now have to find and remove)..
*Your not running it at high RPM's in neutral are you?
