1990 55 yamaha vs 50hp

2 cyl motor,what is difference in 55 vs 50, is it just carb jets or entire carbs,is cyl size same, reason i ask here in arkansas any motor over 50 requires liability ins. model cv55el

You are not going to get by by saying you swapped parts out to get around the requirement .

Buy the insurance or buy a different smaller motor

the C55 is a stupidly simple 2cyl 2 stroke.
the 3cyl 50 actually had some design innovations for stupid americans.
seems the 55 actually needed operator input to start cold.
bad for americans.
so the 3cyl 50 had prime start which if working correctly only required the operator to turn the key.
the Yamaha 50 up to about 95 actually required operator interface to start.

but about the only thing the c55 and the 50 shared was paint color.
