  • 02 250 OX-66 Drinking Oil

    Hello Everyone,

I'm reaching out for some help. I have an 02 250 OX-66 that is going thru oil like it's going out of style. (Not pre-mix) I go through a gallon after about 4 hours of run time. I can't spot any leaks, no excessive smoke, runs fine, it just drinks a lot of oil.

    Any ideas????

Thank you for your help, I truely appreciate it.

    Looking forward to your responses.

    Cheers,
    Iso

you need to check your oil rod adjustment, and it is posted on the forum how to correctly do it. Adjust it just a little off the stop pin.

that engine should burn about a gallon of oil to 50 gallons of gas above about 4000 RPM.
that engine burns about 20 gallons an hour at about 4000 RPM.

to check/adjust the pump linkage the lower throttle shutter MUST be FULLY closed .
NOT on the idle stop screw but FULLY closed.
easiest way is to unclip the lower to throttles.
