  • Adding Tach for new F30 tiller

I am going to add a tach for my new F30 tiller. If I buy a Command Link guage will I need the Hub also or can you run it direct to the motor and then what harness is required?

Got a suggestion on easiest (simplest and $) rigging for a digital tach and the harness?

    Thanks

What is the complete model of the motor?

You first mention Command Link and then bring up a "digital tach".

CL is one type of a digital tachometer. There are others. What are you really wanting to do?

Is your objective quality or saving time and money?

      Yes its a F30LEHA.

I mentioned Command Link only because of shopping for a tach. Just did not know if I bought a 'Command Link gauge' if need the hub and specific harness etc.

I just wanted a digital gauge and save some $. I am guessing the CL gauges kit is pricey compared to another type digital with a wiring harness.

Here is an arrangement drawing showing a typical Command Link gauge installation.

In the case of a tiller handle model the connection point for the electrical power is inside the tiller handle.

Thanks that does answer my question of the Command Link. I guess the price for the harnesses would add up.

I think I would be better to get the (Pro Series II ?) digital gauge and harness? That would be much less cost yes? And aren't the non-command link harnesses available in much shorter lengths?

The Pro Series II are analog gauges.

Most all of the harnesses come in different lengths to fit the application.

Most all of the rigging stuff is in here
