  • 200hp txrp charging or out put ?

When the engine is off the battery reads 12.26v when the engine is on it reads 12.64v does this seems kinda low ? Any idea if this is okay .

Does anybody have any experience with the stator and rectifier charging system on a 91 200hp txrp yamaha ?

      the system is working.
the output isn't much until you pass about 3000 RPM.
best I recall it only put out about 15 amps or so at WOT.
it was only when Yamaha went to water cooled regulators that you started seeing 30-50 amp outputs at 1100 RPM or so.

        Seems low to me.

Run it at about 1500 RPM or so and see if the voltage rises. Should be approximately 14.5 volts or so I would think.

The SM calls for an output of 20 amps at 3000 RPM. More (but not much more) at a higher RPM of course and less at a lower RPM.

Stupid question.... Would it be possible to get more amps from this motor ? Possibly by adapting a water cooled regulator???

            Technically possible or economically possible?

I am guessing that you would need a new rotor, stator and rectifier/regulator. Mucho dinero in parts. Assuming they would all fit.
